The Spring Warm Up was a bit chilly. The turnout was not what I had hoped. Yet everyone had a
good time. Some better than others. How about Ben Trunbull winning the race with a 13:06! Tara
Farrell led the ladies with a 14:44. Andy Neidnig set a course record for 80 and over. Actually, you
all set course records. It's the first time the course was ever run!
Special thanks to Gubbins for hosting and refreshments. Jim Mac Whinnie for registration and the
Village of East Hampton Police for the great support on the course despite being stretch thin with
road closures due to a house moving. No, I don't mean somebody moving into or out of a house, I
mean they were actually moving a house. Why not, doesn't everyone?
Next year I'm planning on making the winter races a
series with awards to the best performers of the season.
I'm considering an "off season" series with 7 races over
7 months between October and April. The races would
benefit youth running groups in different towns. What do
you think? I'll need your help.
